Things have gotten so bad for the Eagles that their mascot is now hiding out in the NHL, like the Henry Hill of mascots. “I ordered a cheesesteak with whiz and I got egg noodles and ketchup.”

ESPN: Andy Reid encouraged by film from loss

This is a misleading headlining, as it actually refers to that fact that the team watched “Dolphin Tale” on the flight back from Buffalo. Said Reid: “Very encouraging movie. Great story. The film from the Buffalo game? Oh, that was horrible.”

Reports have surfaced that David Akers lost $3.7M to a Ponzi scheme. Also involved are Koy Detmer and Chris Weinke, who allegedly gave sales pitches for the implicated organization.
Tell me again how the Eagles couldn’t re-sign Akers in the offseason? How difficult can it be to negotiate with a Ponzi scheme victim? Or for that matter, with someone who believes anything Chris Weinke has to say?
And here’s an investment tip for you: if you are offered a “great opportunity,” and then find yourself in a room with Koy Detmer and Chris Weinke…guess what? It is not a great opportunity.

Right now, we’ve got a lot of good looking guys standing around watching. Obviously, dreams aren’t reality, so the reality will come when I get my hands on them and we get them into practice and start grinding here like the other guys are grinding. That’s reality.

- Andy Reid, on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike in the Morning

Andy Reid’s weaknesses:
Clock management
Sounding-really-gay management

I do not think that DeSean Jackson is going to hold out. At worst, he will arrive at camp and walk back and forth across the entrance a few times before finally going in.

One of these guys will grace the cover of EA’s Madden ‘12.
In a contest to determine just how racist/dog-loving America is, sports fans get to vote for Peyton Hillis instead of Michael Vick to be the recipient of next year’s Madden Curse (though one wonders what could be a greater curse than either playing in Cleveland or being a bankrupt convicted felon). Peyton Hillis? Really? Dude can’t even make the cover of White Running Back Monthly.
Hillis’ inevitable victory will be good practice for America for later in 2012 when the “anybody but the black guy” movement carries Mitt Romney to the White House.
